We recognize that at the heart of the problems we are facing is
a spiritual crisis. We often fail to see how deeply we are all connected. In today's
bottom line driven world, we can feel isolated and afraid of real connection.
We treat the earth and one another cruelly without recognizing the spark of the
divine within us. To solve the crisis of war, injustice, and the destruction of
the earth, we will have to find our connection to each other. None of this is easy
or simple. We are glad that President-elect Obama is a smart, spiritual, self reflective
leader. He talks honestly about complex issues without pretending sound bites can
