Hope Becomes Real Through Creative Action
We write this in recognition that deep rooted social change is a marathon not a sprint.
Many of us know this in our hearts and through our study of past successful people's
movements, but we often fail to act accordingly. The Obama campaign has built hope
at a critical time in our nation's and our planet's history. People from all walks
of life, from all ages, and from all religious backgrounds have come together to
create something special. We are engaged, we are active, we are making real our
commitment to change through our creative action and our hard work. Now we must recognize
that we will need each other in the weeks and months to come.
President-elect Obama will need a strong active grassroots social movement to support him.
If we are serious about creating change - deep and lasting change - we must fully
embrace the reality that our work is just beginning. We got Senator Obama
elected president. YES WE DID! Now, it is time to Grow The Hope.
For the first time in many years, there is a new spirit building in our nation.
People are starting to believe their lives can be better than they are today. People
are beginning to grasp that the world can be better than it is today, and that it
is up to us to direct the change.
Will you join us in a solemn commitment to continue
our important work, to build a genuine movement for change, and to Grow The Hope?
We know that change will not come over night. We know that one person serving as
president can not possibly bring about the changes we desire. It will be an enormous
blessing to have a smart and moral man as our nation's top leader. President Obama
can change the world. President Obama will need our help to succeed.
Let us pledge together to continue our work.
We know that no single campaign
can, in and of itself, bring about the changes we desire. Thus, we will work everyday
to Grow The Hope.
